Hey all! I've lurked on this forum here and there for a long time, just registered a month ago, and now I have some parts to sell so I figured I'd better introduce myself.
I got my 2007 R1200RT in August of 2015. I've taken it from 50k to 80k miles. Prior to the RT was a 2000 VFR, a Seca II, a CB400, a VFR 500, a KZ440, and my first love - my first automobile - was a '75 CB750 that I got for a 6-pack of beer when I was still in high school. Much love for those old bikes, but the RT has been by far the most competent, agile, stable, and comfortable bike I've ever ridden.
There's technically one more bike on that list. In August, I picked up a 2011 R1200RT as a nice little upgrade for myself. Very clean, 27k miles, beautiful bike. I took it on a few rides, then took the shocks out to have the Wilbers ESA conversion done, and install a couple farkles. A couple weeks later, I went for the first ride with the new suspension, had a great rip in the mountains, and then on the way back my front tire found some oil and that beautiful 2011 is now waiting for State Farm to come take it away.
My trusty 2007 is ready for me, just as soon as my new gear shows up. I look forward to many more miles of enjoying ribbons of twisty pavement, hopefully without it reaching up to kiss me. I wish the same for all of you.
Cheers,
Andrew
