Here is the attachment point. It snaps into the base.

Does the cable fit OK, looks as though it is tight

It actually fits fine. I have never had an issue with it, though to your point it does appear loose. I frequently commute with my RT, and take off the Carpuride prior to walking way from the bike.

Thank you, looks terrific, mine should arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday this week. And is the bmw fitted mount too so hoping it's a straight fit and no issues
