Hi All, A question or two for the hive mind about visors.
Question 1. When I'm at home I clean the outside of my visor I uses some MucOff or similar spray on cleaner, then give it an application Nikwax Visor Proof to give it a degree of water repellency as a just in case but ready for the next time I'm out. This seems to work for the outside. On the inside I have a Pinlock which I occasionally take off for cleaning and following their instructions of washing in plain water and let it dry naturally routine, and again this seems to work. The question is if I've taken the Pinlock off for cleaning, what am I supposed to clean the INSIDE of the visor with? Is it worth applying any polish/anti fog/rain coating of any type before refitting the Pinlock?
Question 2. My Shoei Neotec II is pretty good at keeping the rain out, when it's clicked down & closed properly but either crack open a little or lift it up (or whole flip front) and all bets are off. It seems to drag water in as it closes. Don't lift your visor is the obvious answer, but sometimes you just have to, be that for better visibility, adjusting your glasses or simply when filling up. My Shoei can't be unique with this problem. Any solutions?
Question 3. Going back Nixwax Visor Proof, I’ve been using it for years and it seems to work, but science & technology advances. Are there better products available now?

Re: Cleaning Visors & Pinlocks
I used to use Nikwax Visor Proof but found it a little greasy. Now use Shift-It Helmet Polish on the outside of the visor without any detrimental effects.
Haven't needed to remove the Pinlock, once fitted new, it's like double glazing. Just wipe the inside with a dry microfibre cloth.
Try to avoid riding in the rain.
I've got a Shoei Neotec and lift the visor and chin bar as one piece together when adjusting glasses or filling up.

Re: Cleaning Visors & Pinlocks
I use rain X plastic for the outside of the visor and just normal washing up liquid for the rest
