Bluetooth with Zumo and Autocom
Re: Bluetooth with Zumo and Autocom
Thanks RTman - I'll try this tomorrow.
It would be a definite result if I can get it to work!

Re: Bluetooth with Zumo and Autocom
Glad your sorted. Don't forger to ring the dealer who fitted it and educate him.
Re: Bluetooth with Zumo and Autocom
Moving on, I have decided to ditch the BT idea and hard wire the autocom and radio into the alpine unit (etc).
Just need to book it in at Pidcocks.
Whilst I was checking out the 660, thanks RTman, through the audio system I had an error message on the 660.
This was after I "okay'd" the initial "warning" notice.
It reads:
The USB cable is connected to the wrong port.
Message clears, and I can see the route and hear the voice prompts through the audio system.
The connections have all been cleaned and there is no dampness.

Re: Bluetooth with Zumo and Autocom
Did you have the Battery Cover removed from the 660, using the Mini-USB connector to the BMW Audio System.
Re: Bluetooth with Zumo and Autocom
Don't know the age of your 660 but when did you last give it a firmware update. Last one issued seems to have been in Jun 15. .

Re: Bluetooth with Zumo and Autocom
The only problems I have experienced are poor electrical connections between the back of the 660 & the mount/cradle.
Electrical contact cleaner sorted it out, after that, I'm stuck.

Re: Bluetooth with Zumo and Autocom
I've been on Garmin Express & My Garmin and the unit is up to date, but there has been no mention of "firmware".
Do I need to look somewhere else?
Cleaned both Garmin and cradle contacts with electrical contact cleaner.

Garmin software is 5.10
Looks like that's the latest, so its not that. Iv asked the question on the K1600 Forum. There's over 2000 of them so somebody must know..

Re: Bluetooth with Zumo and Autocom
Garmin may be able to help, I have found their technical help & aftersales support to be very good.
They can be contacted for Free on 0808 238 0000.

Re: Bluetooth with Zumo and Autocom
Latest, thanks to RTman for letting me try my satnav on his bike.
No error message, but his bike doesn't have the audio kit. I wa sunable to fit the unit with the locking tabs in place. It's a bit tight on my bike and I have to use a key to push the locking tabs down to engage.
Went to Pidcocks afterwards.Tried a demonstrator with audio. Unit fitted straight in and locked tight, no problem. Also no error message.
Must be a problem on my bike. Just need to book it in to check that ans the "stick" locking pegs.
Back to the original BT versus autocom discussion: today Anne said that she would prefer BT and not worry about not hearing the satnav directions. Some things you just can't win. LOL

Just remind her she wont be listening to £1000.00 worth of Alpine audio unit either, just you..
