Accommodation in Germany

Heading to Germany for 2 weeks, including Harz Mountains, Romantic Road & Black Forest/B500.

Looking to stay in the following places:-
Arnsberg - between Mohne & Sorpe Dams
Wernigerode - East of/Foot of Harz Mountains
Rothenburg ob der Tauber - On the Romantic Road
Fussen - End of the Romantic Road
Triberg - B500

Please can anyone recommend accommodation, thanks.

We can recommend the Altstadt Hotel Zum Hechten in Fussen, a family run hotel in the middle of town. There is a closed parking area at the rear with an overhang they let you park your bike under.
Rothenburg, the Hotels within the town walls can be expensive but there are some just outside. Its worth having 2 nights to see the town and walk all the way around the walls! Try Booking.com for hotels and read the reviews.
If you are staying in the Harz the Hotel Kaiserhof in Goslar is a nice hotel and they are very bike friendly including a pack with biking road recommendations for the area.
We have stayed near Arnsberg at Sorpesee but I wouldn't recommend staying near the lake. I have a very nice Garmin route taking in all the lakes and then on through Kassel into the Harz if you wanted it.

I stayed in the Europark Hotel in Fussen a few years ago.  Great indoor secure parking for the bike.  Matchbox rooms for humans.  Avoid.

Thanks for your recommendations Bertie, yes, I would be interested in a Garmin route taking in the Lakes, Kassel & into the Harz.

Our plan is to ride from Rotterdam to Arnsberg, taking in the Mohne & Sorpe Dams on Day 1.

Day 2, we are heading to the Harz & would like to include the Eder Dam.

Any more recommendations etc. would be most welcome.

OK done. The start of the route through Holland follows the Dykes and Windmills, you can always bypass it. I tend to include options for lunch and coffee and take the back roads when I can. The scenery and roads on route 2 are brilliant. As you notice from the file (.gbd) they have been done in Mapsource and not Basecamp so you may have to convert them. It looks like I can't include the file on the post but if you email me I will send it.

It sounds and look like a WW11 trip: Barney and his bouncing bombs and A Hitler and is V1 and 2 came out of the Hartz region if I am not mistaken. You just conjured up some memories of my winter warfare training in St Andreasberg and then back again a year later on a skiing instructors course (langlaufing) cross country not the posing down hill stuff. The Hartz Mountains are great you will love it wish I was coming.

Be careful with your satnav when heading for Rothenburg ob der tauber; there are two towns with this name. The famous Christmas shop/museum is a must. It's incredible. A very nice hotel which is right in the heart of the town, is Hotel Reichskuchenmeister. Whilst your near Rothenburg, I would highly recommend visiting Bamberg- this place is amazing. It has a population 70k yet has 19 breweries! Two beers to try- Rauchbier (smoke beer) and Weissbier.  Lovely on a hot day. Also when heading for Fussen, Heidleberg is well worth a visit. I go every year.  A centrally placed hotel there is hotel diet johresjeiten. You won't regret visiting either of these places. If you fancy visiting the famous Neuschwantein castle when your heading for Fussen the queue is around 4 hours July August time!
