Richard, not to cause any confusion, the date is the weekend of Saturday 8th July 2017.

As this original topic was a poll and discussion on the places dates etc for the meet up, I suggest if it's finalized a new thread is started with the appropriate details at the head of the thread to avoid any confusion etc.  :)

The attendees are more important than the venue. It's only somewhere to sleep.

DaygloDavid wrote: Dave, may I ask where in the UK you will be travelling from & do you have any plans for the Cotswold's area on Saturday.

Shirley & I are booked for Sat. & Sun., the idea being it would leave Sunday for a look around the local area.
We would consider booking the Friday night too, to make more of a weekend of it.

We will be travelling from Ingleby Barwick, looking at doing Morton (near Matlock) & Meriden (near NEC Birmingham) on the way down.

David ....  We still work, but try to finish by Friday lunch, that's the idea behind the Friday to get down there late afternoon, and a look round on the Saturday!
We are from the Accrington area, so would head down the M6 Friday afternoon 👍

To avoid any confusion, a new thread has been started, https://1200rt.com/viewtopic.php?t=4

If anyone would like to arrange another meet up for a different location & date, please feel free.

I'm out guys.  370 miles of motorway on a Saturday to get to Tewkesbury is not my idea of fun!
I hope everyone going has a great time and even though I'll not make it, it's good to see meet-ups getting off the ground.

Appreciate it's a bit of a trek John. Maybe you could break the journey with an overnight stop?

The bike is best when touring of course.

Don't want to sound sensible but a travelodge or similar does not have a lounge to meet up and tell tall stories....or even short ones for that matter. If we bring wives then i,m sure a natter in the lounge may be the order of the day

Almost all of the Travelodges I've been to lately have a bar / restaurant area where you can sit and have a chat.

They're not quite as utilitarian as they used to be.
