Good spot michael and a lot easier to spell than it's Welsh cousin in Pontcysyllte. Not had much exposure to the Western bits that lie betwixt Wales and the Lake District, other than the M6 of course.

Nice little pub in Scampton village with some Dambusters memorabilia. Next door is RAF Scampton current home of the Red Arrows but past home to the Dambusters in WW2 and the Avro Vulcan 'V' Bombers during the Cold War.
Worth a visit to the pub and some good biking en route.

After, the lighter coloured stonework is where the Eder dam was breached & repaired.
This is the location where our RT failed to start (knackered stop/start switch). We were put up overnight at BMW's expense in the hotel (white building to the RHS of the dam).
