Yes - but I mastered listening to it in 1959 and no matter how hard you try, you can't get the same sound without it.

Does anybody do a replacement system which does away with the cat and the exhaust valve rather than just replacing the silencer ?

Well in 1949 I obtained very much the same annoying sound with a cloths peg, a playing card and a bicycle wheel.[emoji850]

Yes think Remus do a complete system, that will also work with the Akra. You should also then go for a remap. I looked at it when my flap was broken. Think the system and re-map came to about £900, which was cheaper than a new BMW system. But in the end BMW replaced the whole lot so I didn't bother. Only other issue is when you sell, RT's are not like Harley, buyers and dealers like standard apart from the Akra can

Come on David, if you live south of the River you "live" in North Yorkshire.

I had a full Remus system on my 2007 RT but I haven't managed yet to find a system to fit the 2017 model.
Agree about a remap - Hilltop ?
When (if ?) I sell on the new RT it would be with the OE exhaust and the Remus would go on the replacement - or on eBay !

Hilltop for remap
Here you go -

Assume it would fit the 2017, but not sure if anything has changes

My advise would be to look up Dyno tests done on the LC by bike mags and compare their findings with those of Hilltop. The comparisons are interesting.

Interesting, in what way? Its not so much about power, but more drivability, as the standard map on the LC is lean. I have only read good reports from owners that have had a remap by Hilltop.

This test was on a just out the crate press fleet bike. Their findings are much the same as Hilltop after the remap. Could it be that having paid out £300+ it must feel better

As Our Gee has confirmed that I reside in North Yorkshire, my location qualifies.
The next thing is my 2012 RT is an SE model, am I still in.
Somewhere near York sounds perfect.
