Last word from me.  It's not the wrong lead.  It's same lead without the unnecessary switch. If you had ever had both types fitted you would agree.

The 2275 switch could be placed out of the way, e.g. under the seat.

The 2273 is £45 & the 2275 is £67, less 10% atm from Chainspeed.

2273 might be £45 from Chainspeed but you then have to add on £2.95 delivery and you don't get the extra 10% because it has already been discounted by 10%

I think one ought to buy Autocom parts from the cheapest place possible - but I believe it would then be cheeky to call Chainspeed for after-sales support. However, Sam at Chainspeed would no doubt welcome the opportunity to "convert" a potential customer with his exceptional expertise.

I suppose I call Sam twice a year when I am thinking of re-configuring one of the 3 Autocom systems I own (I owned 5 at one stage!) or have a Bluetooth intercom question. I am prepared to pay extra for his continuing assistance.

£45 seems to be the going rate, some suppliers offer free p&p.

Are there any better deals to be had out there.

Not on their website.  I gave you the email address of the parts manager and his phone number.
He is the one that has quoted £43 to us,

Here is how I tapped into my speaker wires.  You could also do it up at the speaker itself, but there would be more wire routing to do.

That's the end to do it.  Much easier and efficient.

Sorry if this is a stupid question - and also if it is one that has been answered umpteen billion times already...

Let's say I install my intercom (I have a Starcom1 rather than an Autocom but it's probably the same cable) and I connect it up to the speakers as described. On this hypothetical occasion I don't want to listen to music but I do want to hear the direction prompts from the SatNav. Am I right in assuming that I have to turn the audio system on, and presumably leave it on the 'Aux' input so it doesn't pick anything else up? So in other words, the audio system has to be on all the time to act as the 'conduit' for the audio coming from the SatNav?

It is on all the time when you turn on the ignition.  What you hear is what you set it at.  And yes, Aux will give you and any pillion the sat nav prompts

Currently I'm turning my audio system off when I don't need to use it as otherwise it 'hogs' the central display and I don't get the digital speedo. But no great loss if I end up with the audio system display there all the time.
