I know it's an 8 year old thread.
I have a March 1999/T reg Hayabusa, It is one of the first in the uk.
The reg number is T998 USA
I do get asked if the reg number is real.

Having bought a new plate for my Suzuki Swift which looks like my two initials & surname,
P16 VFR is now for sale at £250. The number is on retention with the £80 transfer fee paid.

When i was looking for one for my Gen2 Hayabusa, I nearly bought this one. But thought i would be pushing it with the local law. Still for sale on the DVLA website.

As i like my ZX9R's i have "-9 OOR" on both my cars and wife has "-6 OOR" on her car.
When i had my first ever Hayabusa i had the reg number X13 OOR on it.
Sold it back in 2012 for £500 to the guy who bought my bike from the dealer i px it at.
This is how i had the number plate.

My wife has always wanted her name "JOY". But there is no way on earth i'm spending that sort of money on a reg number.
But if it was "B1 TCH" i might be tempted to sell a liver.

I’m just not into personalised plates, however, when I worked for Honda they produced the 50th Anniversary Russel Savory Limited Edition range for several models, including the CBR600, Firestorm, Blackbird and VFR800.
Each machine had a small plaque with the issue number on the bike, and I had #1 of the VFR’s, then bought the number plate to match. ‘S1VFR’ What a poseur!

I've got my initials, year of birth and month, e.g. CS 61 DEC. To anyone else it looks a normal, but I know what it means, however is never going to be worth anything.

I have not thought of a meaningful personalized plate since I put this on my 'breathed-on' 1956 Porsche 356A Speedster:
I suppose I could, but simply have not.
The downside, considering how I drive, is that a memorable plate is easier for pseudo-drivers splitting their attentions between the task at hand and their cell phones have an easier time reporting me for paying attention and driving safely
DIFFERENTLY from how they drive.

It does not matter anymore if the reg number is memorable or not and you do something wrong. As so many people now have cameras in or on the vehicles.

I just came up with a theme and couple of possibles for naming my '76 Airhead...
but I don't think I could stand to use them...
Britney, AOC ... I'm sure you could come up with several along that line.

I went thru the whole thought process, initials, etc eventually ended up with this on my 2022 R1250 RT, seemed appropriate and if I ever sell the bike, certainly won't hurt resale value....

The way i look at it, sod the kids, we woked hard for what we have so why not spend it on ourselves.
If they want it let them work hard for it to.
