You are worried about a quote of a few hundred quid? LOL. My insurance (2019 RT SE London 1 yr NCB full A for 25 years) is £1800. Or about 30p a mile.
Insurance is the largest cost of ownership for me.
I won't ever complain again. Paying that would put me off owning a bike.

Blimey how do you guys get such cheap quotes? Here in Cardiff mine was £405 last year, and they refused to insure it all unless I had a tracker fitted. Bike is kept in a locked garage.

Live in a village. Full no claims. Bike is garaged, with 4 cameras on house with monitoring 24/7. Aged 62, doing less than 4000miles a year, so I guess I am a low risk.

Hmm - mine is in a locked garage, two cameras on the house, one camera on the garage and one inside the garage. 71 next month, full no claims, about 5000 miles a year. Must be this rough suburb I inhabit (without knowing it) :wonder:

Ah, I'm thinking of moving to Cardiff. I didn't realise it could affect my premium so much!!

I think it's reasonable to accept a renewal quote that reflects inflation. If our pension didn't increase with the cost of of living then we'd soon have something to say. Why should the insurance industry be any different?

I do as well. Unfortunately renewal quotes never reflect inflation in any way whatsoever.

You're right, I should have said renewal premium, the price you get as a quote has very little to do with what you end up paying.

Just spent 90 minutes trawling through comparison sites and got my insurance a bit lower. Same company as my renewal (Hastings Direct), but I got it for £104 instead of their quote for £108. Not a massive win, but better in my pocket than theirs!.
