Sorry to resurrect an old post especially as I started a new thread, but I had the triangle and sos warning light come on permanently yesterday on a ride out on my 2019 1250RT.

I’m hoping it was just a loss of signal, once I turned the ignition off and on it went away, reading this thread has me now thinking I’m going to end up with a flat battery if this telemetry module is constantly searching for satellites.

I’m guessing it’s not something that can be checked with a gs911 ?.

Actually is this a free sos service even when the warranty is up ?.

I had the warning triangle flashing on my first ride out after getting the bike. Bahnstormers at Alton arranged an appoint and did a software update within a week which solved the problem.

My bike went in for a 12k service and software update 5 weeks ago, I have been getting intermittent SOS warnings. Today on the Ride To The Wall I get it again, this time it doesn't clear. I guess I'll be calling Shrewsbury BMW on Monday, it's still under warranty for 11 more months.

Which SW update? Is it the "GS(A) transmission input shaft" SW update? You can check this by pulling the clutch in while riding and then give it full throttle, it won't rev higher than 6000 rpm where as before you would hit the revlimiter.

It revs past 6k fine. When it was booked in for the 12k service they asked to have it for 2 days as it would need a software update, no idea as to what it was for.

Did you check this with the clutch pulled in?

BMW replaced the SOS switch today, just need to see if it's resolved the problem by riding the bike.
