Here in sunny Pulborough our local petrol station, upon hearing prices were to be reduced by 5p, immediately raised their price by 3p… so we have a 2p bonus! Bless their little stone hearts.


We’re paying 178.9 here for 95, when 30 miles away in Ashtead, Surrey, it’s 162.9.

The problem is that the 5p reduction is up to the individual company.  What peeves me off is that the Scotland government told retailers to reduce the price of a liter by 12p, the Irish did the same.
Today i was down to the last 26 miles of fuel. Put £20.00 of premium in at £1.79.9(why not just say £1.80 per liter). It only took me to half full, 150 miles.
Gone are the days when i could fill my old 850 Mini to the brim for less than a fiver and a packet of 20 fags was under £2.00. Also, a brand new Honda CX500B with a rack fitted was under £1500 on the road. Think i paid just under £2000 for a new Moto Guzzi 850 Le Mans 11. The first flat i bought in 1982 only cost £26000.

Here in Sunny Gib at the moment it's £1.49 for 98Ron and that's expensive. It was £1.12 just before the beginning of the Ukranian war. Dam the torpedoes.

Lossie isn't remote, I spent 12 years just down the road at Forres while based at RAF Kinloss (now an Army camp). Places like Altnaharra are remote.


Locally here the price went down from £1.65 to £1.59 after the duty cut, now it is £1.64.

This is Washington Services on the A1(M),  ~30 miles north from me and BMW recommend BP fuels.

My local has just raised the price again. They put their prices up on Saturday and again today. Regular E10 is now £1.97 per liter. Local Asda is £168.9 for E10.
E5 fuel is over £2.00 per liter. Hope it's cheaper in France in the next couple of weeks, if not i may have to cancel the trip.

Got back from France and Belgium a couple of weeks ago. The prices there was just about the same as UK. Luxembourg was slightly cheaper

Cripes, and here's me coming to England end of June for a long tour!  Those prices are even worse than here in California, which is the worst in the U.S.  In 1971, sitting on my brand new Bonneville in London,  I almost fainted when I saw that a gallon of premium petrol was A DOLLAR!!  It was 25 cents back then in the U.S.  Six of us bikers got out of Sweden after one day because of the price of fuel and bread!  Took the ferry to Denmark.

Not sure what the situation is in the US but here in UK 47% of the cost of a litre of fuel is taxation made up of duty and VAT. My question for the government is if you want to make a meaningful impact on the cost of living, slash the taxation on fuel. The cost of fuel is really driving up prices and those on lower incomes who need their cars for work such a community carers must be really struggling. £2.00 / litre is just mad !!

Must be the same in Europe then as their prices are the same as ours.

It's all a covert government scheme to make us buy electric vehicles.

Yup when that happens the lights will go out. As the national grid is running at nearly maximum capacity now, imagine when X million motorists come home and plug in their cars. There really is is no joined up thinking. Sorry for the rant.

Seems to me that the prices rocket upwards as soon as there's news of an impending 'crisis',  but they take their bloody time coming down!  Also, I'm sure that the fuel for which we're paying huge prices was purchased at lower rates long before the expected rise in crude oil prices.  Don't mind when my girlfriend's got her hand in my pocket,  but I wish the oil companies would keep their hands to themselves!
