Intresting. This might mean its easier to insure a SupercarSteve398 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 8:14 pm Checking out the UKGSER forum it looks like there may be problems insuring the 1300GS because of the value and popularity of the GS/A for bike thieves.
Insurers appear to require trackers being fitted and apparently some dealers are asking potential buyers to ensure they can get ins cover before ordering bikes.
The situation may be also more applicable to those owners having multiple machines.
Really, I have read most threads on UKGSER about the 1300GS, but hadn't picked up on that one. I did read insuring GS as a whole is becoming more difficult due to thefts. But insuring any bike that is north of 20k is going to be expensive.Steve398 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 8:14 pm Checking out the UKGSER forum it looks like there may be problems insuring the 1300GS because of the value and popularity of the GS/A for bike thieves.

I had two insurers simply refuse to insure my K1600GA which I bought new, when I bought my new R1250TR with all the dangly bits I told them it was worth £19999 Lets face it, as soon as it leaves the showroom it's not worth what you paid for it
