Here's the link to the packing vid she did a few years ago I think she might have found other better ways to do this now but from this you can see the rest of the stuff she's put up of our trips. She mainly puts them here for storage and not for followers but over the years she's started to share them on various groups.

I took it off the screen,it looked bloody stupid.Now the same as you but on the other side and I made a safety line out of fishing wire,it's discreet and maybe might just prove useful.

Thanks for this, we agree on so many things, even down to the Boots liquid containers! But the big thing for us this year is the compression packing cubes, all of a sudden I have space in my pannier. My wife’s? Not so much, she’s just packed more stuff!

I'm sure she's mentioned the packing qubes before but I pack small as it is. I'm sure she'll revisit the idea a gain at some point

I crimped a small length of thin coated wire to an O ring terminal then cable tied it to a handy post inside the speaker space, and then super glue’d and taped the wire to the blipper. All this high tech stuff is in the hope it prevents the damned thing flying past my ear at 70mph when the sun melts the 3M pad glue… this is the result -

Quick lesson learned yesterday, if my tag(not sure you have the same Steve) is not facing barcode towards the camera,it has difficultly reading the tag.

Nope, mine’s different and can’t be mounted the wrong way around, but having it mounted in the new position opened the barrier far sooner… success!

Mine can only be mounted on the holder 1 way,it's how the holder is mounted that determins the way the tag faces the barrier.Doesnt matter now as I've "learned " by a quick trial at the peage

At last… sunshine, and we’re on the Ancona/Igoumenitsa ferry.

It’s been a strange few days, a broken down Eurotunnel train, heavy rain from the moment we left home on Tuesday until yesterday lunchtime, a mechanical issue with the filler cap in Ravenna, and a one-horse town in the arse end of Italy with 5 restaurants and only one open, and which of course only served some really foul pizzas, not improved by the fact we’d had pizza the day before as well.

I’ve also been hit by a couple of pending fuel pre-charges on a debit card of £360 in total that ‘may take up to 31 days to refund’. Lesson 1. Use credit cards or cash for fuel abroad

The filler cap issue was a ‘let’s get some fuel before we get on the ferry tomorrow’ moment, unfortunately the fuel cap didn’t want to play. I tried it about 30 times, thumped and swore at it, a sure cure for almost everything, it’s technically called ‘percussive maintenance’. Checked You Tube, lots of videos, no real help.
As a final throw I found that the nearest Motorrad dealer was only 30mins away and visited them, very hepful, fixed and no charge

Good news - accommodation superb so far, and Motorway blipper thing working beautifully in its new location and not yet fallen off.

And it’s only Friday! Our journey so far… 1167 miles.

One further thing came out of my visit to the Italian BMW Dealership -

They were unhappy with the SW Motech tankbag mount fitted to the filler surround, stating that BM believe that the additional loading from the weight/stress of the bag may possibly be causing some of the filler caps to stick.

First time I’ve heard that suggestion, perhaps the same applies to the similar Givi mount too?

It’s a beautiful warm evening here in Palairos, so what am I doing?

After several days of rain, bugs and brake dust on the way down here it has to be done! Sad or what.
