I've been able to slim down my tool kit considerably.
All items except,

It looks like the above will also fit under the seat, then I'm sorted.

Purchased the Clarke PRO199 3/8" Drive Extendable Ratchet today, yes it goes under the seat, complete with the soft spectacle case for the other tools.
Unfortunately, can't use the tool roll, but easily sorted with two freezer bags.

I'm new to BMW ownership.
I've always owned totally faultless Italian bikes before.
How worried should I be that one of the main threads on here is about the size of the tool kits people carry on their RTs??

I wouldn't be worried at all. I only carry the tools I am capable of using which is the OEM set or similar replacements. I guess the planned trip might also determine which tools and what to take, I would probably take something extra if I was going to Morocco as opposed to nipping up to Scotland.. 1 essential tool is a small piece of plastic which fits in my wallet and says BMW Assist on it [emoji12]

Like beemerbaz, the only tools I carry are those which would come in the Standard Toolkit or an equivalent replacement.
With these tools, (screwdriver with star-head blade & T30 Torx wrench respectively), the Rider's Manual suggests they can be used to,
replace the brake-light/rear-light & rear-indicator bulbs, plus removing the flashing turn indicator with fairing panel.
BMW Motorrad offer a supplementary service toolkit, "ideal for carrying out extended service work (e.g. removing and installing wheels)".

The additional tools which I have assembled will do the same as the above, probably for about half the price or less.
Together, they all take up minimal space & fit under the pillion seat.

A local BMW Dealer has suggested the Service Kit Part No. 71607714570 for a 2012 RT, at a cost of £126.

With a 3/8" Drive Socket Wrench, the job is sorted.

My set arrive today, a nice addition to the tool box.
Was able to access & loosen the mirror securing set screw. This screw was previously too tight for the torx keys I had, not enough leverage available with this type.
