I would like to think that most police forces would give the same answer..


There was an email from work saying that Thames Police are doing spot checks  on vehicles and that we should carry our Trust ID in case we were stopped going to and from work. 


Not seen any evidence of it myself. Mind you, if I stuck a couple of bikes on the roof rack and started towing a caravan around I'm sure they'd take an interest.

Good job they didn't stop Boris last week.

Took silencer off to lube the flapper pivots (Sounds well without it). Service light now comes on but will have to wait till dealer will do it.

On my commute to and from work I'm noticing a lot more cars and  people knocking around?

After London & the Midlands, the North West has the third highest number of recorded deaths from Coronavirus.

Not sure of the exact figures but has the NW now exceeded London on a daily basis.

That's possibly down to the fact there's 2 heavily populated cities in the NW with Manchester & Liverpool, Liverpool not being far behind Birmingham in its population. Who knows?..

I'm sure you're right, it's got to be down to the density of population.

Was just picking up on the comment of seeing "more cars and people knocking around".

GMP had to break up loads of parties and issue Covid-19 fines.

As long as people don't get complacent and start to flout the rules, I hope we will start to see us get on top of this in the coming weeks.

Mmmm, damned lies and statistics don't fill me with confidence. Partner working in a Pathology Lab in NHS, is seeing bodies being wheeled down the corridor on the way to the Morgue very frequently now.

I'm sure when  the "out of hospital" death figures are published, it will be frightening. That's IF they're ever published.

The first 3 weeks lockdown started on Monday 23rd March. The review date should have been Easter Monday 13th April. Because of the Bank Holiday etc., the next 3 weeks lockdown commenced on Thursday 16th April. This will be reviewed on Thursday 7th May. We've been diddled out of 3 days!

At the same time, "Shielding" for 12 weeks was announced. Where did this length of time come from and what happens afterwards. The 12 weeks is up on Monday 15th June.

It'll be nearly 16 weeks from 23rd March to the Annual RT meet in July.

Coronavirus will obviously still be around, how do folks feel about venturing out if & when the lockdown restrictions are reduced or lifted completely.

The restrictions will, in my mind, have to be lifted sooner rather than later. Due to the impact of imminent job losses & business closures. Saying we've got to wait until there's no 2nd wave the economy can't cope with that.The hospitals can handle the numbers showing Covid19, even without utilising the Nightingale units.

Likewise here Miles, I'd like to get out on my bike. My thoughts were around the Annual RT meet in July. The hotel might be open but perhaps not the pub.

Hopefully, we'll be able to travel for pleasure by then, whilst still respecting each other by maintaining social distancing at the P&T stops etc.

I'd certainly consider taking my brew kit and a picnic if necessary. We can't stay cabined up for ever, just need to manage the risks.

I'm still planning to attend. The only issue will be the accommodation and eating arrangements, if the pub is still shut then I might consider coming up and going home again on the same day. I'd rather not do that because part of the whole thing is meeting a few new people and having couple of drinks in the evening.

There are plenty of picnic tables outside the pub & a Tesco over the road.
