It doesn't matter who you are, or what you drive, C&DSOU Police Motorcyclists will get you.

With the most recent easing of lockdown on Monday 1st June, where up to six people can meet outside.
I'm feeling slightly more positive about the RT meet in July. Providing the hotels & pubs are open from 4th July, it may be a goer.

Looking at the list of attendees, there are 17 names (inc. pillions). As it stands currently, we would need to split into groups of six for the ride out on Saturday.
Might not be perfect but it's a way forward.

Who knows where we'll be by the 11th July.

I've been reading the GOV.UK Coronavirus Guidance updated on 1st June,
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... nd-cant-do

1.1 What can I do that I couldn’t do before?

You cannot:

• gather outdoors in a group of more than six

1.3 What else is a criminal offence?

• incite others to commit one of the above offences by e.g. inviting people to a party

Does me arranging the RT meet (party) for more than six people risk committing an offence?

Fortunately, there were only six of us.

As my potential riding buddy Markus isn't on this forum, I emailed him the same question.

He replied with, "What I'd say is that if the 6 people rule is still in place we shouldn't go.
That's probably the sensible thing to do and then we don't have to worry about breaking a rule whether it is guidance or the law - we just comply with it."

I tend to agree with him, what are your thoughts on the matter.

When you lead the Saturday ride out we never stick to the speed limits and  exceed the limits in areas slightly ....isn't that also breaking a law??
If your going to break 1 law and be a criminal you might aswell break 2

Please can I just add, when leading a ride out, all signed speed limits are adhered to. Yes, when in a NSL zone, (black & white sign),  an exception may be made.

A group riding system is employed which does not require anyone to exceed speed limits.

I would also really like the RT meet to go ahead, I just don't feel comfortable with the current situation.

I haven't ridden in a group of more than 2 for over 25 years, what's a group riding system? Is there some sort of briefing at the start of the ride out so we all understand the rules?
