RT Owners National (UK) Meet 2017
Re: RT Owners National Meet 2017
Does it have to be in this country?
To arrange a meeting in Europe where ferry/train and hotel bookings are involved is a different game altogether and in most cases involves upfront funds for hotel bookings etc. You could not do it on an individual basis. So I think the answer is yes. Got to be in UK.

Presume we will short list and re vote on an amended list at some point? Some votes obviously cast before all suggestions on the poll list.

Re: RT Owners National (UK) Meet 2017
16 people have voted out of a membership of ££@£@. I think we have an issue here. I get that its not for everyone and not all are in the UK, nonetheless; perhaps we should examine/ask why so few have commented. One reason may be it has not been up for 24 hours yet. Therefore i suggest a mass email to all UK members be sent by admin requesting they read this thread. No obligation to vote or even comment but asked to read it. Give it a week and then see where we are
i would dearly love to see a hundred 1200's in one place. what a sight that would be. No doubt BMW would throw in some worthy raffle prizes etc.

Is this as UK members only event, or can anyone join in?
If it is open to the European interested parties, I would not be able to commit to coming - it would depend on holiday availability at work, the home boss giving me the time off! Money, etc etc. Would love to go. Just can't commit right now!
Best regards

It was prompted by the Yorks/Lincs Northern meet up in general conversation, just mooting that a national meet up might be attempted. So basically ideas being thrown about from this weekend. As far as I am concerned anyone is welcome from abroad, we just need to put the flesh on the bones of this early, evolving plan. Nothing is set in stone and everything up for discussion, I agree a mass email may prompt further, more involved discussion. Perhaps the Southern meet up will prompt more suggestions? It would be good to get lots of RT's together, throw in a few dealers , BMW UK etc.

UK was added to the thread title because the question was asked, "does it have to be in this country", not to exclude anyone outside the UK.Sleuth wrote:Is this as UK members only event, or can anyone join in?
Perhaps someone might like to look at meet up somewhere outside of the UK.

I was thinking the same, let's see where we are this time next week & take it from there.scunny1 wrote:Perhaps the Southern meet up will prompt more suggestions?
Meanwhile, keep voting & discussing the options.
Re: RT Owners National (UK) Meet 2017
Little bit of research on my option of the NEC shows there is a large event on the first weekend of July and again on the last weekend. This would result in the hotels bring busy. However at the moment there seems to be nothing on the two Saturdays 8th and 15 July. The NEC website as yet however don't show anything for July so it's not certain yet. So for that option we would have 2 weekends when we would have the place to ourselves. I am at the NEC in a few weeks time and will make further enquiries.

That sounds great John, if the NEC Birmingham becomes the chosen venue, then perhaps a date can also be fixed.

If folks would like a ride out, could ride between the two "claimed" centres of England, Meriden (near NEC) & Morton in Derbyshire (near Matlock).

There are several Premier Inns in and around Birmingham.
Does it have to be at the NEC?
Or for that matter does it have to be at a Premier Inn? Travelodge also have reasonably priced rooms for the night. Keeping options open would help.

I was born with nothing and unfortunately I still have most of it left.

Meriden to Morton (fastest time), 60 miles in about 1 hour, will look at less direct route.
