How do you see where you are going.
Not only that, I wear prescription glasses with transition lenses.
Tinted visors look cool, I use a mellow smoke tinted visor with a light smoke pinlock.
I do carry a replacement clear visor & pinlock, plus some clear lens glasses, particularly in France.

I also have transition glasses. Not a problem in a quality helmet as the visor stops UV so they stay clear. So looking through glasses, tinted sun visor, pinlock and visor but always over the screen. What's the problem, the road's out there somewhere.

Serious question - I sometimes wear glasses at night to ride in, how do you stop them misting up, is there a coating you can put on

The only solution I use is to open up the helmet chin vent for a bit. Prescription glasses are likely to have some sort of coating on them that could be damaged by anti mist muck.

I have a transition visor with my helmet. Saves all that faffing about!
Can only be a matter of time before they all go this way, surely?
Bit expensive now but will come down in price like everything else over time.

Some very sensitive soles here. Perhaps we need to get in touch with our 'Caring, Sharing' side.
So much for roughty toughty bikers! next thing we know BM will launch an RT in Rose Pink with faux fur handlebar grips.
Just sayin!

That sounds expensive. I've photochromatic specs in the past but of course they don't work under a visor.

It came with my Carbon Fibre helmet.
It is a Lazer Monaco flip-up. It is very light due to the weight saving from removing the flip down sun visor mechanism and the ultra light CF.
Lazer call it a "photochromic face shield"

Now you mention it I can remember BMW putting out a press release about one they were developing. It was never produced as it had too short a life span. It was some time ago though.

Replacing my visor with another would cost me £99 but I hope it will come down over time.
No reason to suspect that it would not last as long as the transition effect in my glasses to be honest. I will have to be careful with it when cleaning etc.

Pinlock do ProtecTINT fog resistant insert lenses for helmets, reacts to UV light by changing its tint colour from clear to light smoke in a matter of seconds while keeping your helmet face shield fog free, around £45.
