I would say that i find the hose helpfull.
Machine sits on seat can reach all but front of bike and no weight.

Can I reverse the polarity on my Dyson V8 to blow clean air through the hepa filters???

The Sidekick Blaster can be used with a short extension hose & shoulder strap. Not sure that would be user friendly on a motorcycle. I think the idea is that it's handheld and waved around, like a hair dryer.



Perhaps a dryer on the ground with or without lockable castors and a decent length hose which doesn't just extend when the unit is switched on would be good, plus soft nozzles will reduce the risk of damage should they touch the bike.

The power units are the same, although the pet dryer has a variable speed control which could be useful. The other differences are, the power cable and hose on the bike dryer are longer and it comes with castors.

Teasdale Motorcycles at Thirsk are 25 miles away. They use & sell Bruhl dryers, https://www.teasdale-motorcycles.co.uk/ ... pe=product and would be able to demo the different models.

Bruhl are German, therefore, they have got to be the best!

[left]Don't know why you would want to do this, but it wont work for a number of reasons. Firstly, the HEPA filters are on the end of the air path, so the air going through them has already been filtered by the cyclones and motor pre-filter, then been through the motor. By reversing the flow the HEPA filters become the primary filters, they are very fine and likely to clog quickly. Second, by reversing the flow through the machine you will pick up dirt from inside the tank and cyclones and fire it out of the hose. Third, the motor depends on the airflow going through the machine for cooling, if you are using the HEPA filters as the primary filters and they have clogged up, the motor overheats.

All this talk of filtered air is a bit of a nonsense, we ride our motorcycles in unfiltered air. Most of these blaster things have some rudimentary filtration on them, mostly to protect the motor (as they use airflow for cooling) rather than to provide some sort of purified stream of unsullied air.

For the record, I have an Aeolus TD901T. On full blast water disappears as a mist and it dries all the way down to the skin. It even get loose undercoat out, so you cannot use it indoors without filling the room with fluff. It is a bit on the pricey side but it is not too noisy and has variable speed, which is very useful for training. When I use it on a motorcycle it is very effective, just be careful around switchgear and keyholes because you can blast water in through small gaps at 150mph if you hold the nozzle right up close to the switches, something which is not recommended in the same way that you would not direct a jet washer into the ignition switch at point blank range.

Personally, I think all of this is a bit OCD and have never felt the need for any kind of air dryer. Keep my LC in a garage ,sprayed with ACF50 and that suffices after any washdown.

The local AYB guy who has ACF-50 treated my bike on a few occasions uses this dryer, seems a good enough recommendation.

Based on the above recommendation by AYB, have decided to go ahead and order a dryer.

The other thing of note is that in the last 7 days, the price has gone up by £5, now £76.12.

Ordered and returned the dog type blower not quite powerful enough. Bought Bigboi which is a lot more expensive but is much better. Variable heat and variable blow.

I,m thinking of buying a blow drier for my bike have not made up mind yet as some are a bit more expensive than others but give a longer warranty , have a bit more surfing , but Bruhl do look popular , the American versions give a two year warranty .

If the Amazon specification is to be believed, this dryer has an 8 years warranty.
