Please don't take this as an endorsement as I only found it by doing a web search.
The cheapest thing on a BMW is the nut that connects the handlebars to the seat.

New headers fitted today by Mr BMW to sort the seized valve. Booked in to see them in 2 years time for another set! :-X

I asked that question, if you haven't made a contribution or its he second time on a warranty claim, that's it. No more replacements

yes this is the case as confirmed by the techs where I workLevisp wrote: Interesting. However I think if you leave the motor connected but just remove the cables then the system sees no fault because the actuator motor is still working. If someone has done this maybe they can confirm it.

Do you know if they have changed the design with the new 1250 engine, looks like a different exhaust.

a few weeks ago Williams Manchester replaced my final drive as the paint was flaking, had the bike in for its two year service this week and they advised the exhaust valve was showing a fault so they have ordered new headers under warranty. Should be here in a week or two.
