One day I must work out where the throttle thing is!
Blimey... 24500 miles on mine. 50.4 mpg!
I'm obviously doing something wrong  ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Turning off the engine and pushing - especially up those pesky, fuel-burning hills - can help.

My 2007 1200RT normally gets 58-65 depending on whether I load tent, camping equipment and missus onboard. This can increase the weight by at least 150 Kg

Your welcome to join me if you can keep up. I do always use Shell Nitro in the bike and the X1 All wheel and that does 35 mpg on A and B roads

23,100 miles on my โ€˜11 absolutely bare, no panniers or trunk, single 210 pounds of me, proper tire inflation and not riding like a squid or โ€œspiritedโ€ 47mpg.

Average (real) over 35650 miles - is 60.1 mpg  ..... no complaints . Worst tankful 52 , best 76.  Still on original front brake pads  , but they will need changing at next service ..... sniff

(2015 LC , previous model , an 08 ? also was about 60 mpg over 30,000 miles approx)

I cannot complain even at 47 mpg. The lowest itโ€™s dipped is 46.1mpg around town, short interstate jaunts etc.

I have a 2018 R1200RT LC that I'm changing soon, so just out of interest, I looked at the overall average mpg. I bought the bike new and have done 15500 miles in just over 2 years. Leisure rides in the UK, weekends away, IAM observing and four trips to Bavaria and the Alps.
In the UK, I use either BP Ultimate or Shell V Power fuel and usually 'Aral' brand in Germany. The bike definitely runs smoother and feels more lively on the higher octane fuels.
I've never reset the on-board computer and the overall average mpg is showing as 57 mpg.
I'm happy with that, but I really don't care about it too much. I enjoy the bike and unless it starts guzzling fuel at an alarming rate, then I consider it to be just an 'incidental cost' of the enjoyment.

I didnโ€™t even think about imperial gallons. Thanks for the enlightenment!

The latest MPG figure on the BC was 70.6 MPG, this was against a physical full to full check which worked out at 67.4 MPG.
