The same battery is also listed on eBay at £68.45 which is only 49p more than I paid from Tayna.

In the news on Monday, some poor sod bought a 'genuine' battery on EBay for a bargain price... he was well chuffed until it burned his house down and nearly killed his children. I was going to write to him and ask him whether it was worth saving a tenner but again... better things to do.

The Exide battery advertised on ebay is supplied by Tayna.
Having purchased one directly from them in April 2019 for £66.96, I'm more than happy to recommend the product and their service.

I'm shocked!.. I don't think you'd have got a positive reply from such a negative experience Graham.

To be on the safe side, best buy a genuine BMW battery, made by Exide.
£81.50 from Chester Motorrad,

When registering the battery with Exide for warranty purposes, if the serial number isn't recognised (fake), it'll be flagged up.

This is the current Tayna Batteries list for an R1200RT,
BMW R1200C, RT (98 - Present) - 1200 cc Motorcycle Battery (tayna.co.uk)
With a CCA of 310 A, the Banner battery looks like a good option over the Exide GEL at 170 A for an extra £10.
