I have ridden some of the country on David's route and there are lots of spots either on or very close to it which are well worth a visit, so here are a few suggestions you may want to take up. It depends how much time you have.


A slight deviation around the A44 south of Evesham will bring you to Broadway. There is an excellent cafe at Broadway Tower with wonderful vistas across Worcestershire plus its an interesting ride on Fish Hill.


Close to Stratford and to the east is Wellsbourne Airfield. Again an excellent cafe, well used by bikers, plus a Vulcan Bomber and a Vampire jet on display.


if you want to push the boat out for lunch you may like to visit the Anchor in Fladbury. This lies between the A44 and B4084 to the west of Evesham. Nice guy runs the place, but then he's a biker as well. Cracking food and excellent lunch stop.


Finally just a suggestion while passing through the Malverns make a stop at British Camp. Lots of parking and a good tea bar called 'Sally's Place' on the A449.


You may have realised but I tend to navigate by cafes and pubs! There are some great biking roads in the area joining them all up.

Thanks for your suggestions MacJ. The route now includes the POI's, which all look very interesting.
Although the mileage isn't excessive (114 miles),  the riding time is now 3 hours 46 minutes. With 4 stops, it could be a long day.

The POI's suggested by MacJ do look interesting, hopefully will have time to visit all.

Do you have a proposed set off time David?  Tim The Plumber and I are riding up on the Saturday, so want to get there on time.

Would prefer not to be leaving Tewkesbury any later than 10:00.

If that's too early for those riding up on the Saturday, we could always meet at one of the POI's later in the day.

The rates just keep going up, now Saver £42 & Flexible £60 for Friday 7th, "Book Early" to avoid disappointment.

The increase in price is relative to the reducing availability - that's the Travellodge model.
