I've been to visit my grandkids in Southampton. A27 packed with holidaymakers. Spent most of the time unblocking a drain. Up to me armpits in crap.
After that I ended up with the girls in their swimming pool for an hour.
Tomorrow I am servicing the bike if it isn't too hot in the garage. I would do it outside but I don't want strangers to see i have a MC.

Service on me Sprinter, what a suprise to find the oil filter removal tool from the RT also fits the Sprinter oil filter cap :thumb: Also a suprise that the 4 cylinder 2.1 engine takes 12 litres of oil, that's a lot of oil :o Now ready for the drive to Hungary :thumb:

Not that it makes any difference (certain not since I had it chipped)but its a 210 not the 313(same engine, less bhp in standard form)It did indeed take 12.5 litres, never put so much oil in a van.

I take it we will be loosing you from the site?. Sad as you have given some quality input to the threads over the years. Hope you find the perfect GS that you are looking for. Take care Iain.

The GS does have more leg room than the RT, it has more leg room even when the pegs have been lowered on the RT.

I'll jump in whilst the coffin is still warm :-D
Everyone has to move on to better things overtime. But remember the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
Also don't get above yourself when you buy a GS, Still wave and we will wave back.

So i thought it was time to fit the rear shock and my Akrapovics that were removed from my Gen2 Hayabusa on to my Gen1 Hayabusa.
The rear Maxton shock went on without any problems.
But the exhaust was another story. I removed all the panels, the water rad the oil cooler, the main stand the exhaust headards. I then went to fit my de-cat gen 2 headards and thats when the problem started.
Everything lined up as it should, but i could not fit the headards unless i cut the old mount off from under the frame.
I spend a good couple of hours trying to find a way around this, but it was not having it.
So i have ended up having to refit the OEM exhausts back on the bike.
I'm a bit pissed off and i now have to sell the Akrapovics and take a big hit on them.
I paid £1219 for the Akrapovics, £160 for the de-cat Headers, £200 for the Akrapovic shields and £180 for the R&G exhaust protectors. A total of £1759 which I will be lucky to get half that back when sold
I'm going to have a good think first to see if i should cut the exhaust mount off from under the frame !!!!!!!!!!!
