Now on to my second Twin Cam model, had a 2010 bike (see photo) covering 38,000 miles in 4 years.
Recently changed it for a 2012 model in Midnight Blue Metallic with 3,000 miles on the clock.
What have you got or had?

The 2010 model pictured was part-ex'd at Allan Jefferies.

Snap
Also got the `Midnight Blue' ( albeit today somewhere under the road crime !! ) 5.2 k mileage,
just got to fit the cylinder head protectors sometime, but not sure whether or not they can be just done up hand tight or not, as leaflet suggests use a torque wrench to do up to both 8nm & 2nm ?. RTman10, do you know if covers need to be torqued up' or just `tight' ?

Swapped the cylinder head protectors from the 2010 bike to the 2012 model, didn't use a torque wrench, just hand-tight.

Thanks for that, I mean one of the lower bolts going in at 2nm !! ( according to the BMW instructions ) that's only slightly over `hand tight' and I've only got a huge heavy duty car torque wrench, would have snapped the bloody lot... :-\

Steve

The seat looks real comfy, you also have the panel infills (rear above foot pegs) were they easy to fit. Overall a good looking Bike. 8)

Nice looking bike, was tempted by the Anniversary model myself.
The sticker above the headlight suggests you have done some touring.

The seat is great in the respect it gives my lower back a bit of extra support, I managed a 950 miles in 2 days returning from Austria in the summer but my backside still felt like it had been spanked by a girder !
The infill panels were pretty simple to fit just needed to loosen a couple of bodywork panel fixings.

And your thinking of swapping it for a K1600GT. Don't do it.

Still got mine on the headlight protector/converter from September 2013.
This photo was taken in September 2014 at Os de Civis, Spain, (just outside Andorra).

Decided against until I have £20k spare for a new one which will be 2-3 yrs of saving my pension.
I love my RT more than any bike I have had recently, spent lots on extras and it's had masses of TLC from the day she came out of the box
