Excellent! The unlockable satnav mount on the 1200RT WC is complete garbage. I have lost one and damaged another satnav so far. BMW have treated my complaints with contempt so far by completely ignoring them. A pitiful reaction after the suspension fiasco last year.

Would you have the resources to make more of any components needed in view of selling them to fellow members? I for one would be very interested.

What does the screen look like with a 15cm self tapper screw coming out of the middle of it? lol

Think you need to look a bit closer at the photo.

SweRT you are a genius I thought I had some idea of how you achieved this, but now I am not sure. You are a friggin legend.

Brilliant idea. Looking forward to the detail but it looks as if it might lock down the release mech on the top of the mount.
If so, could always use an "odd" screw top, not slotted or pozi, to prevent light fingers.
Good work SweRT

Never meant to be completely theft-proof but stops at least snatch and run by those who don't carry some Tools

Thanks for uploading that Swert. Very clear & simple to follow. What's the dimensions of the barrel lock? Presumably this dimension is critical so the lock plate corresponds with the latching mechanism...

Usable lock stolen from a discarded lockable DVD box.
Some dimensions:
D = 14mm, T= 7 mm, H= 6 mm, L = 28 mm
The snow is gone, the roads are dry and the temp is comfortable now also at the 60th latitude so from now on it will be more riding than unimportant garage tinkering
