Nail in the rear tire

Om my way home from Austria (fully loaded) - in Sweden - 350km from home - I got an error message from the tire warning system.
Dropping rather fast -
Hmm - but for some minutes ago - I saw a sign for a petrol station in  few km - and a quick look on the GPS - I found it would be there in a few 100 meter
Continued - slowly - pressure steady levering - and then I could see the petrol station in from of me.

Down to 0.4 psi - when entering

There I found a “small” object - that should not be there - in the rear tire.
Found my tools - and dragged this 10cm something out of the rubber.
To big to be patched ?

Hmm - what to do a Sunday morning ;-)

Well - found the tire repair kit - cleaned the damaged area - plenty of glue - and inn with the plug.
Waited for 5 minutes - then about 1psi of air  - wanted another 10 minutes - then filled up to 3.5 psi - still no leek - then back to 2.8.

Drove carefully rest of the road home - no problems - no leek - no nothing.

New tire - on it’s way ….

The original BMW repair kit !
Tested it one time before on a small tiny nail - worked perfect for the rest of the tire-life.
But was unsure on this kind of rather big repair.

I'm always amazed how such a large piece of metal thats blunt can embedded itself into the tyre. Good that you were able to fix it.
