Is there a translation error or something. I'm not understanding this post very well.

I've not done it but what it says is. Switch on ignition, press cancel switch on indicators for a couple of seconds , start engine. And you won't have any lights on. Probably something in the handbook about it but I never bother to read it..

Why would you want to ride without DTRL? I can't see the point when you consider how many SMDSY there are, but maybe Norway is different. Hey hang on, Norway was in the Land of the Midnight Sun last time I checked, it begs the question why?

In a service mode - sometimes you want the ignition on, but not to drain the battery - switch all light off !
Not for riding, but in service situations.
Also - sometimes - like on a track - you are not allowed to have any front light on - when riding ;-)
and so on ^-^

Also ... If you've got a remotely dodgy battery, by switching off the lights, all the power is going to the start up. Some bikes do it automatically - my FJR didn't turn on the headlight until the engine was running.

How about leaving the windshield up after you turn the ignition off? is that possible?
