r1200rt 2015 tank bag

Hi everyone,
Just got the chance to get a second hand tank bag for my bike. The guy told me it is the same bolt that you remove from the front fuel tank that you install back on the bike with the tank bag attachement. I would like to be sure it is the same bolt i did not trid to install it yet....

Hi mat1200rt, welcome to the forum. On my `2012', the bag merely clipped into place on the Tank, is it a genuine `RT Bag' ?. of course perhaps the later 2015 models now have a modified fit

Yes it is a different fit on the later models i think i will go to the dealer just to make sure it is the same bolt. Thanks for the reply!

The fitting kit shown in Real OEM shows no replacement bolts which suggests none are needed.

Thank you very much appreciated for the answer! C'ant wait to ride with the bag on the bike any comments on this bag? Will still be another solid month before i try it i'm in Montreal Canada but they said we would have an early spring this year! Fingers crossed....

I bought a new bag and the bolt is slightly longer than the original bolt. This allows for the space the thickness of the bracket takes up. The original bolt doesn't reach far enough. It's about 5mm longer from memory and has a shoulder at the top which fits into the bracket hole.

ok....
will check again for that longer bolt with the dealer because i tried it with the original bolt and it fits.....??
