Where have others chosen to mount a ram ball for phone or other use?  Replace screw?  Clamp?  Prior RT's were easy with vertical torx head screws.  The LC is more of a challenge.  Thanks!

I used a U-clamp from Ram Mount on my left handle bar.  My '09 RT does not have a stereo, so there was room for the clamp.  Works well for me.  If you zoom in, you can see it on the left handlebar. Image

I managed to fit a U-bolt ram ball mount to the left handle bar of my 2014 RTLC SE to use my TomTom Rider, until I bought the Nav V. There is just enough room there but protect the bar with a bit of tape or similar.

Please keep ideas coming.  I would prefer not to remove the BMW badge.  I appreciate the responses! Thank you.

That's a much better position for the satnav.
Less movement away from the road ahead to see it.
I've never favoured those on top of the yoke for that reason.

Hurrah - it doesn't block the screen.

Mind you, if you put a Nav5 in the integrated mounting, it doesn't block the screen and it doesn't look c**p either.

Maybe I'm turning into grumpy old man but i fail to see the l;logic for buying a £15k + bike and the scrimping on a few bob to make the peripherals work.

Is it just me???

I thought about replying in the same vain but couldn't think of a nice way of saying it.

This photo would seem to indicate that the hole pattern on the RAM baseplate is the same as a Garmin Zumo Cradle, therefore, should work with the Hornig GPS Mount.

I have fitted a ram mount to the clutch lever assembly using the reservoir mount. The Ram supplied bracket installs OVER the factory mount. Just remove the existing screws, keeping the riders side of the assembly in place acting as a spacer. The mounting screws provided with the mount fit perfectly. The installation should take no more than 5 minutes and that includes gathering the necessary toolage. Here is a link to the unit I purchased. http://www.ebay.com/itm/RAM-Mount-Base-With-1-Inch-Ball-For-Motorcycle-Brake-Clutch-Reservoir-Black-Univ-/191294285340?hash=item2c8a07261c:g:s7sAAOSwFGNWT5qn&vxp=mtr . Hope this helps.

I already have that mount :-).  Can you send me a photo of how you mounted the ram device?  I'm confused by your description, but am sure it will be obvious from the picture.  Thank you!  Very helpful info.

You do not use the RAM provided spacers. Remove the existing screws from the clamp. The clamp now acts as the spacers. I will try to get you a picture.
Sorry about any confusion brought on by my prose, this a straight forward install.
