When I click on the link for the manual, it diverts to a page that doesn't seem to have manual.
Can someone advise if there is a manual available on the forum

I think you need to elaborate on what bike you have and what manual you are looking for.  Driving a 1200 RT does not exist anywhere. It is the users manual you are looking for.

The subject is Repair Manual so I guess that's what the poster is looking for

Me too but for what.  I've never needed to but you can apparently download them from BMW using your chassis number as the reference.

Looking at the BMW Motorrad UK website I can see that you can download a Rider's Manual, (owner's handbook), but can see no link to download a repair manual.  If anyone knows of one, please can you post the link?

It's a DVD. BMW Part No 01 59 8 559 606.  Available from your local friendly dealer

Try your local dealer first, probably cheaper and no postal charges.

Having been a staffer at a repair center for two different bike brands, this is one area where buying the OEM version pays off. Additionally, when you register your electronic version (after buying from the dealer -- 140$ here in canada) , you will get updates from the manufacturer.

I cannot tell you how many home mechanics would trailer their bikes in to see me after getting halfway through a job with a Haynes or CLymer manual and lost their way.
Dont get me wrong, I have 6 very old (antiques, now) bikes in my basement where a Haynes/Clymer are the only choice. But for me they are an aid as opposed to a verbatim direction. 
It'll be the best extra $80 you spend.

And regarding the free download, The service manual is controlled by copyright, so therefore such downloads on this or any site would be infringing on them. At one of the other BMW forums one of the moderators actually copied and posted a factory manual, believe it or not.
