Grip Puppies installation question

Just got some new Grip Puppies and they seem like they might be a little long, like a half inch. For those that have installed these did you trim them to size first or just squish them on?

Trim and then use washing up liquid or hair lacquer to help them into place.

Yes cut to length, having done a couple of them now on various bikes I tend to error cutting them too long the first time as you can always trim them again... Peter

Thanks to all. Trimmed them to size, installed in minutes, test rode for two hours and promptly cut them off. They my hand go numb faster! Who knew?

I only cut the one on the RHS to make sure it didn't stop the mechanism working properly.

I fitted some the other weeks and they stopped all the tingling/numbness, even after a 5 hour ride.

They defiantly helped with my tingling fingers. I found that if you move your grip on the throttle a little out, it helps a lot, and I only get tingling in at certain revs. I never have an issue with the left grip, just the throttle. They have helped a lot and if I move my grip and don't grip to tight they are fine

I followed the tip I found on the forum and bought a couple of rolls of Dunlop Raquet Handle tape. (£2.79 a roll at Sports Direct) Its nicely padded and self adhesive. With a bit of care( and a few dry runs) you can get a really nice finish. It makes the grips that much fatter and reduces any vibes.
I haven't tried whacking any balls with the handlebars though!

Always painful to whack balls with the handlebars!
