BMW Puncture Repair Kit

Post by guest3954 »

Off to Spain touring next month and I am just getting prepared. On checking my Puncture Repair kit -I have two of the small compressed air canisters left  - I can't remember if this is enough to reinflate the tyre after making a repair? Does anyone know? :)

IMO, most unlikely, I carry a Slime mini compressor.

Me too.  I've never trusted air canisters enough to do the job alone, although I do carry them.  On tour I carry a 12v pump.  Always I have a small hand pump under the seat.  Amazing what you can pump up by hand when there's no alternative!

Which hand pump fits under your seat Richard?

I bought the hand pump that Nippy Normans sell, seems good, so carry canister and the hand pump

Replacement CO2 canisters are available on Ebay for a few pounds. You can also get a much better adapter to connect to the valve.

Can anyone please advise which of the "Electric" pumps will fit inside the front offside "Glove Box" of the Twincam RT. I modified the box on our previous Hexhead RT so as to accept my current pump but that required quite a lot of "butchery" so I am reluctant to go down that route again. Thanks.

Have you got room under the seat behind the tail light unit, I've got a Slime mini compressor stashed there.

No can do David, on our bike most of that space is taken up by the BMW Tellenummer / Schrader Electronics Gizzmo box, although there is just enough room to store my puncture outfit and Fuel Pump Controller Bypass "Spur".

This looks like the one I've got, http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/13 ... e-inflator,
dimensions of the carrying case & compressor are given in the product information.

I suspect that the answer to that is "none"...
