Final drive

Just arrived home after a nice ride out and started the usual cleaning when I noticed splashes of oil around the real wheel.
Nothing like an outpouring but a little like you get after you have lubed a chain drive and you get the smattering.  Put it onto centre stand and it sounds  little clunky but not sideways movement so...what do you reckon

Just been out to check again and wheel rotates without any grinding clunking.  PS it,s a 2008 rt

Best case is the shaft seal has gone that hides under the ring on the right side of the hub. Not an expensive fix.  Worse case, if the clunk you talk about can be felt, is the main bearing has gone and it's damaged a seal. Very fixable but not cheap. Don't leave it, get it checked out.

It,s only just has a crown wheel bearing replaced less than 500 miles ago, so i would have hoped that new seals had been put in

In that case it shouldn't be clunking.  Was it replaced by a BMW workshop?
