Set for a fun weekend...

Post by richardbd »

The RT has gone off to Bahnstormers for its 12,000 mile service.

They've kindly leant me another ride for the weekend - their S1000XR demonstrator.

Looking forward to the weekend...

I had a test ride on one. It was my idea of a sports bike - fast and fun, and comfortable enough.
Buying one would no doubt cost me my licence, and the RT is a much better tourer so, since that's what I do predominantly, I'm sticking with the RT.
Have fun (hope you get dry roads) and watch out for speed traps ! :nervous:

Might be mad.  But is it bad?

It's actually quite hard work to ride quickly.  It's warp-fast but there's zero engine braking when you roll off the throttle - even dropping a couple of gears doesn't really help.  You have to ride it much more on the brakes than with a big twin.

Once you get used to it, it's quite a hoot but I could never have it as my only bike, it's just too manic!

Hoolgan kit then.  They have been known to have cam issues as well.  One expired on our tour to Luxembourg this year,
