clutch adjustment

Post by nibiker »

hi, my bike is an 05 r1200rt with 16000 miles on the clock but I think the clutch is slipping a bit, is there any adjustment I can make?

Sorry no.  It might be  oil on the plate.  Check under the clutch housing for signs of oil.  If  there is anything there you hsve a weeping gearbox or engine seal.

I have a low milage (16k) 2006 RT. When I went on tour this year, with the bike fully loaded and the misses on the bike I experianced some clutch slip on day one. I basically diliberately dragged the clutch for a while, It seemed to settle down after that and has been fine ever since. Maybe the lack of use / milage is a factor.

Totally different clutch on an LC, wet instead of dry.  On an 06 either worn out or oily.

Hum i experienced same problem in a 2005 model , but with 45 000 on the cloock.
At some point found the rear wheel covered with oil, but not aware where it came from.
