When Clearwater came out with its under-mirror brackets, which bring the lights up higher, I could no longer resist.  Iron Horse BMW, Tucson, Arizona, USA, installed them for me Dec. 21.

They look really nice. If I didn't already have the BMW aux lights I would think about fitting those. I fitted the Skene P3 rear lights as I wanted a better brake and running light as I rarely travel with the top box, that is also a good bit of kit

Just in time for Christmas.

I like the look of those lights - very neat. I'm not paranoid about being more visible but I would like to have something to improve dipped beam spread and throw.  Will these lights help in that regard ? 
If not, can anyone recommend something similar  ?  Do I need HIDs rather than LEDs ?

The Clearwater "Darla" lights are more comparable  than 'Ericas' to the BMW auxiliary lights. They are  a little  more expensive, than BMW but of superior quality and light output. They can be programmed to dim using the 'wonder wheel'  Fitting is straightforward.

No, my dipped beam is (only) one H7 bulb.
The Clearwater auxiliary lights look like LEDs and, while they are probably extremely effective at making you more visible to myopic drivers, I'd rather have auxiliary lights which would help me see where I'm going when it's dark.  My previous RT had two H7 lights on dip, the new one has one (and two H1 lights on main beam).
So - any suggestions for lights to go in the same place as those Clearwaters which will light my way ahead ?

Not sure if I understood your post, but I have the BMW Aux lights which light up with the headlight and they really help at night, throwing a beam sideways. Others have said they are really bright. If I've missed the point sorry  8)

Think he wants his auxiliary lights to be on with his dip beam, something the BM won't do.  Probably some EU regulation saying you can't

Thought we had covered this before, my aux lights are on with the dipped beam, just not on with main beam. Just been out and checked my aux lights are on with dipped and main beam. Obviously at night the rings are not on with the dipped beam.

Thought it was the other way round.  it's two years since I got rid of mine.

So - they're not on with main beam, or are they ?
I think if I fitted extra lights I would connect them via a Rowe PDM60 which I would set up to come on once the engine was up and running and they would therefore be on with the DRLs, with the dipped beam and with the main beams too.
Having googled the Clearwater Erica lights I now know that, although they look like LEDs, they are extremely powerful and would give me more than I could ever need to help me see the way ahead in the dark ! Pity they're so expensive .....

You can have them operating in different ways, in default setup they are running in reduced brightness on dip and full brightness on main.
You can adjust the brightness from the wonderwheel (if fitted) and it will also vary the brightness on dip to suit the ambient light levels. All this is done by their product Can Opener which connects inline with the existing bikes wiring so no cables are cut into.
