Balancing Beads
For those of you that have, and are using balancing beads, I have a question.
Is there a problem getting them through the valve stem if you have TPM on your tyres?

AND...they don't HAVE to be put in through the stem. They can be dumped in before the bead is sealed through the side.

Wow, I had no idea these even existed. They are cool, but I would be nervous about them affecting the TPMS. Would be interesting to see if these help with front tire cupping issues.

Good counter argument. I have no idea if these things work, just learned about them today. Seems like if they got wet at all, they would tend to clump up and cease to function properly. Might throw some in my Vespa just for the helluvit, since I don't bother balancing those tires at all.

So what happens when you need to repair a puncher at the roadside or need to take the tyre off to repair?

Been using them since 2005 on my Goldwing's then my K1600.
My tires never cup and typically last 10-12K miles.

If you have tyres that last 10-12k miles, one of us is doing something VERY wrong - beads or no beads.
I'm sorry but there is simply no way a rear tyre can safely last 12k miles on any properly ridden or maintained bike.

That's simply not true. My 2015 K16 OEM tires were changed at 11K.

Like I said, one of us is doing something wrong. Not least, if you reckon a rear tyre will last as long as a front and you change them at the same time.
As far as I'm concerned it's a rule of thumb that one front = two rear tyres and I don't think I'm the only one with that view. It is simply inconceivable that a "progressively" ridden bike can get 11k miles out of a rear tyre and the tyre still be genuinely roadworthy - not unless you push it rather than ride it!

I owned a 1600GTL for 3 years. Did about 25K on it and got through 4 sets of Z8s. Back was always knackered each time and the front was always mis shapen so swapped them at the same time. Can only think you waited for the white wear line to show before changing.
