I'm looking for the best place to connect a mini GPS tracker onto my 2013 - R1200 RT
The chap I go it from already has the connector for the Garmin GPS unit used up so I'm looking for somewhere to plug into for a permanent 12V feed
Appreciate any tips as I'm not up with ins and outs of canbus etc
Thanks in advance

The GPS supply will be a "switched live" when the ignition is on.
If you are looking for a "permanent live", I would imaging you'd have to go directly to the battery terminals.

I would be worried about battery drain if unit is plugged direct, lojac type units in US have there own battery and use car/bike to charge system
If you only want it powered when running put a splitter in gps power line

One of the wires in the round multi-pin socket under the passenger seat is 12v permanent live

T6 Pilot - This unit has its own battery but it needs to be connected to perm 12v. Current drain wont be a lot but I have it on trickle charger whilst garaged up
futterweasel - thanks for the tip. I'll get the meter on it to find which one
