Nice, but what is the problem with the weather protection then? Over 10k this year and haven't noticed anything bad. 8)

I've read it gives better rain protection (keeps your boots dry and clean) but I also like the look of the bike with the weather protection fitted.
An enclosed smoother look.
From your pictures I can see engine bars, have you added quite a few extra's to personalise your bike?

tda, I've got the other bits for rearward protection sitting in the shed if you want to make me an offer! I've gone for BMW front and Puig rear for weather protection.

In response, my hope is that this protection, which was designed for the Police versions, should cut off another path for road grim hitting the panniers and keep my toes a little warmer
My previous bike had extreme tupperwear (K1200LT) I don't want to repeat that but, I didn't like the strange empty triangle that there was between the engine fairing and swinging arm pivot. Thanks for the offer but I have gone for the Wunderlich fill in plastics around the passenger foot rests. The bike came with the engine and fairing bars, I have added things to increase the protection of the bike from road grit, grime and effluent. I have fitted this
https://machineartmoto.com/products/ava ... all-years/ fender extender, fits really well and no sticky bitsto come unstuck.

+1 on the machineartmoto fender extender.

No worries. I ride Police bikes a lot hence going for the full kit, but the rear sections don't seem to work as well on my own machine as they do at work, which I put down to the differemty shaped panniers.

Yes think its to do with the city panniers on RTPs. Got to admin though I have never noticed any issues with my boots getting covered or my toes getting cold. In fact I don't have any issues with our RTPs either. Think I'll stick to a tin of polish

Hey tda2806, When I looked up BMW Weather Protection for the RT, there were some 12 different parts in numerous denominations. Of course, the increased number of parts means an increase in the overall costs. Here is Bike Bandits list of part
https://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/2016-bmw-r1200rt-weather-protection/o/m157912sch951125. Your images were excellent in showing the fitting but did you have more parts or were the parts you listed enough to provide the weather protection? Thanks Patrick

The parts I have listed are just for the protection around the gear change and brake, they are items 4,8,32,40 & 44 on the diagram that you have linked to. I would suggest for additional protection around the passenger foot rests rather than use the remaining parts on the diagram I would look at the products supplied by Wunderlich or Puig.
