Hi All,

Took delivery of my first beemer this week but havent yet had a chance to ride much as yet, just a couple of short 50 mile trip thats all.

Its an excellent condition 2007 model with 18,000 on the clock. Bought as an alternative bike to use really, as also have a Tiger 800XC and Thruxton.

Looking forward to some long trips

Hello and welcome. Sounds like you have a nice collection of bikes there - I'm sure you will enjoy the RT.

Thanks Guys,

So far so good, had a great 360 mile ride out yesterday to North York Moors.

Bit painful on base of spine/bum  but thats down to having two hearniated discs. Tiger and Thruxton are no different.

Was considering a Gel seat for Tiger and maybe RT. Not Sure!

Great to hear meet is in Leicester in 2018

Whats the Northern Monkeys, is that a club or a reference haha. I was in Sledmere, Goathland, Somewhere Nr Rippon and Then Barnsley. had a great ride.....

The indicators are interesting, did I hear new models are now conventional style. It will be interesting when I take the other two out

Being new to the bike, and as you say, you find the indicators interesting is normal. But give it a few weeks and you'll be loving them and wondering just why all bikes are not the same and just why BMW deemed it necessary to revert to "normal" style indicators (I believe it was when the Twin Cam model appeared) and at the same time reduce the quality of the said components by about 300%. This could start quite a lengthy indicator discussion so apologies in advance.

The "Northern Monkeys" is a collective noun being used to describe those of us who have been meeting up at Wetherby for day ride outs.
