Has anyone come across an issue where the mirrors on the new RT LC are having dirt thrown up onto them in poor weather. If so is there any solution.
Ive only owned the bike for about 6 weeks and compared with the Air cooled Rt I had, the mirrors are terrible in poor weather.
Mirrors issue
Re: Mirrors issue
Sorry, can't help you there. I've ridden in very heavy rain on back roads with frequent muddy areas and the mirrors were one of the few areas which were just wet. Visibility is affected by rain water, but the mirrors weren't dirty.alistair137 wrote: Has anyone come across an issue where the mirrors on the new RT LC are having dirt thrown up onto them in poor weather. Were you following vehicles throwing up a dirty spray ?

Re: Mirrors issue
Do you ride without the panniers fitted?
I came across this with a pal riding an identical RT LC to mine. He never rode with panniers and I always do.
Oddly he was always complaining the mirrors were covered in road spray while I never had a problem.
I suspected that the removal of the panniers changed the airflow over the bike.

Thats an interesting observation. I ride without panniers and agree the mirrors particularly the nearside side get covered with dirt very quickly. Only solution I know of is to stop and clean them

Never had a problem with dirt on the mirrors, but I always ride with the panniers on my 2014 LC.

Vini, Vidi, Velcro....... I came, I saw, I stuck around.
Re: Mirrors issue
+1 - NB my panniers have "city lids" fitted so are much narrower than the standard pannier and I still have clear mirrors.BeeJay wrote: Never had a problem with dirt on the mirrors, but I always ride with the panniers on my 2014 LC.

Re: Mirrors issue
Thanks for the replies. Appears that riding without the panniers is the cause and yes the nearside mirror is particularly bad.
