Steering damper affected by cold?

The past couple of evenings after work I've noticed that the steering has seemed very "loose" as I was leaving the parking lot and making the first few corners and then seems to tighten up after 5 miles or so. It hasn't been very cold, about 40F.
Anybody else noticed this? Thanks,
Eric

Logically you'd expect the reverse in cold weather.

Yeah, you would. I wonder what's up.

I have just the opposite problem. I'm in California (the States) and when I start off for work the temp is +/- 40f. The steering is really stiff for the first few minutes, then seems to become normal. I just figured it was the oil not liking the cooler weather. --Steve
