Garmin Map Update - 2018.20 is now available.

For completeness the new release is for CN Europe 2018.20 NT.  This works with older units such as the Zumo 550 and 660.  The NTU 2018.20 version for later units like the 590 and 595 was released in August.

What is the difference between NT & NTU Maps.

The NT maps, New Technology I believe, are the maps which are used by the older units but only have names using the Latin alphabet.  The NTU maps for the later units use Unicode, hence the 'U', and can show the names on the Eastern European maps in Cyrillic languages, such as Russian, correctly.

Got there eventually, normally update both the PC & Device at the same time. For some reason, it wouldn't work, kept getting the following error, "Garmin Express Elevated Installer has stopped working". Decided to try updating the Device on it's own, which worked OK. Next re-installed the maps to the PC, the error came up again, but a dialog box popped up to resolve the problem. Soon after, PC update was complete. Now got 2018.20 on the Device & PC, both BaseCamp & MapSource, happy days again.

now you have the latest maps you can get planning David...you could even plan using the European maps
