Jump starting 2005 R1200RT

Left the lights on and jump started the bike from a running car.  Two minutes to charge it up and it started quickly, and re-charged extremely fast and has run just fine ever since.


BUT,  I've noticed that the temperature reading is way off (colder), and was wondering if the jump start affected the temp sensor, and if there are any other things to look out for that haven't shown themselves thus far.  I'm thinking of the mileage sensor, or even the fuel injection computer (alhtough I haven't noticed anything noticeable as to fuel economy, etc. 


Any thoughts/warnings about jump starting in this fashion?

Within the Rider's Manual, there is a section on "Jump starting", therefore, this practice must be acceptable without any risks of damage etc.

That's pounds, not guineas, yeah?  I'd buy it just because it's the first part I've heard of that's cheap!  Thanks for the info.

The 2005 had the sensor mounted inside the rear mudguard near the front.  It was always way out.  There was a technical recall that moved it behind the front right side panel.

Thanks to all.  Don't need to know the exact temp, tho'.  Just afraid it was indicative of other electrical problems stemming from the jump start, none of which have arisen so far.
