Hi Everybody


I'm after some advise on the Micro Sd cards (Gb, speed, make) that people are using in there Go-pro's / Drift camera's.
The card I was using has corrupted most files and I'm informed the most common reason is the card speed is to slow.

I use a mixture of big brand class 10 cards depending on what is on offer at the time.


I also only buy from main sellers to try and avoid buying a fake


All my cards are currently 64gb but if I was into 4k recording I would move up to 128gb cards

I don't know much about them? but this is an interesting read into SD cards. Well, as interesting as reading about SD cards can be

I use 32GB SDHC SanDisk cards in my Drift HD helmet camera. Reputable brand that gives good video results. I tried the 64GB card in the helmet camera, but alas, didn't work! Camera limitations, bearing in mind my Drift camera is several years old now!

Sandisk, Samsung, or Kingston should be reliable, (Lexar is another big brand but I've not used them), Sandisk is my preferred memory card brand.

I use Sandisk Ultra 32Gb in my Drift Ghost S. I normally transfer the video onto my PC then use the PC 'delete' command to wipe it. Every now and then I reformat the card on the Ghost.
One battery charge gives me 2 hours 23 mins of video and fills 22Gb, so the card would probably take slightly more than 3 hrs. Slightly off-topic, but I'm experimenting with a 22,000 powerbank, (sits in an inside pocket in my jacket) connected to the Ghost with a micro USB lead that means I could film all day if necessary. I think the Ghost S can take a 64Gb card, but I haven't tried one yet.

Interesting what you say about the Drift Ghost S camera recharging whilst recording. Unfortunately, my older Drift HD camera doesn’t allow for that feature. So I go touring armed with a stash of spare SD cards and spare charged batteries! Not the ideal situation, but manageable until such time that I get round to upgrading the camera.

I'll get myself a few 64gb cards and see how I get on.

This might sound b.obvious, but make sure the camera you have can run and record okay with 64GB cards, as some cameras (eg Drift HD) won't work with such high capacity memory cards.
