14 R1200RT Maintenance Newbie...In over my head already!
2014 with 12000 miles, needs Oil & Filter and Gear Bearing Oil. But what else?! I'll re-read Zen and The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance before I start. But I really need more instruction! All your suggestions and recommendations are really welcome and requested. Is there a really good, complete service guide, the kind that tells me what I don't know I don't know? (BTW, I've had so many failures and screw-ups at my local Dealer, that I've decided I can't possibly screw it up any worse than they will, if I just take my time, pay attention and ask for help.)
Repeating for emphasis: ALL suggestions and recommendations are welcome and requested!
For starters, is there a good online place to order maintenance items, tools or kits?
Thanks,
Tom

Suggest you buy Marks service manual it will tell you all you need to know. Note this is not a workshop manual. It only covers how to service the bike.

I'm not sure he ships overseas but Jim's maintenance videos are very good and cover all standard maintenance procedures.
For complete service information, get the official BMW Motorrad DVD from your dealer.

Best thing you can do is buy JVB DVD and take your time. Ask questions if you need to. A Haynes Manual will help also.

Yes also have Jims DVD. Very good. Well worth the money. Haynes manual I think is a disappointment and not necessary for servicing. Buy Jims DVD and Marks service manual sorted.

I use one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000RO612A/ ... sc=1.
If you are as cack-handed as me it has one big advantage because it sucks rather than blows, so you are unlikely to spray fluid everywhere
