Switchgear Gremlins?

Took the bike out at weekend , first time since it's mot 2 months ago. Had a good ride early morning up the Trough of Bowland and ended up in Bowness.
On the way home I was a bit pushed for time so used the M6 , it was a little breezy so raised the screen a little for more comfortable
When I got home I attempted to lower the screen but it would only go up not down and as a result is now stuck at full stretch like a galleon in full sail
I also spotted that the info button has also stopped working (Cruise control has always been iffy but I'm not a fan of this on the bike) but all other controls on the left hand console work ok
Does anyone have any ideas please or am I looking at a new left hand switch assembly?

On a 2010 TC, try squirting some electrical contact cleaner around the screen rocker switch & info button, might work its way into the switch.

A BMW recovery technician told me that the switches don't like heat & its been hot over the weekend. Has the switch been tried since the bike has been stood.

On my 2010 TC, the RHS stop/start switched failed on a hot day, left it overnight & tried it the next day, it worked, but still ended up getting it replaced.
The LHS switch, (although not faulty) was also replaced under the switchgear campaign.

Think the switch replacement campaign has now come to an end, might be different if the bike has a warranty.

People will tell you a faulty switch can be fixed.  It can’t, only replaced.  For a time they were replaced FOC but unfortunately not now. They are also not covered by extended warranty.

Thanks for the input , as it's a 2010 model I don't think that BMW would entertain a claim on this. It may help that the group I work for own the local Motorrad franchise but guess reading between the lines that ultimately I'll end up getting another and haggling for some staff discount
Before I stump up the hard earned cash though I'll certainly try the contact cleaner , after all there's nothing to lose I suppose.
A job for weekend I think.....

Having now seen the construction of the switch, it's unlikely that the contact cleaner will be successful but it's worth a try.
